Transient Hooligans is actually the name of a digital music label, set-up in order to promote the finest bass heavy, speaker smashing audio madness, Scotland has to offer. Expect to find Dubstep, Neurofunk, DnB, Electro and Glitch, along with a smattering of Moombahton thrown in for good measure...
This is not just your average label though, oh no. We are sick of young people knocking their pans in, smashing clubs and learning the trade inside out only to get bumped out of THEIR hard earned pennies. Every artist signed upto TH gets the same deal. 70/30% Artist/Label. But we don't want that to be seventy percent of what Beatport or Juno decide. We sell through our own means, so that we can give the artist as much as possible in return for their hard work. Cant say fairer than that, can you!
Enough about all that awfully serious stuff though, this right here is all about fun and knowledge. And fun knowledge. However, you need not have much knowledge of fun, this can be learned here, all in good time.
As we have just started, I feel that a staggered and manageable approach to this blog shall be best, perhaps two instalments a week until things really get moving. Kinda like when you first start seeing someone. Oh don't worry though, my end goal isn't to lure you into bed with me. Unless of course you are anyone of countless Hollywood actresses, in which case PM me. Anyway's, back to the point. Timetable.
I think one midweek thingy and then one weekender should do the trick to start with. During the week I'll talk about all sorts of music techy things, such as the latest releases of synths, both hardware and software, all sorts of other plugins and music making related goodies, and Ill also give top ten run down of something. OOOOH, bet you cant wait to find out what that is.... God I hope so :(
Then for the weekend, I think we shall let our hair down a bit. Unless of course you are my bald friend Barry. He can't. Still though, not nice to exclude people, eh? This time will be spent, quite possibly drunk and high, talking about clubs, artists, festivals... that kinda shit, you get the picture. A much more laidback page, with plenty links to fat choons an stuff.
If you got this far, you are a legend. I can only hope you venture back to see if I actually do any of what I just said I would. Until then, Peace. x
